Associate Veterinarian – Full Time

Position Overview

Location
Brilliant Veterinary Care is a brand new, full-service, AAHA accredited, small animal practice in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Located only two blocks from Central Park, there is so much to see and do. From taking a stroll in Central Park, exploring cultural landmarks, or enjoying a meal at one of the local eclectic restaurants, you will want to make sure to have plenty of time to enjoy all the Upper West Side has to offer.

Practice Overview
We are a privately owned, women owned hospital with deep-rooted connections to our neighborhood. We strive to provide individualized, thoughtful care of the highest standard for our patients. Our state-of-the-art hospital includes 4 exam rooms, surgical and dental suites, digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy/rhinoscopy, CT, cold laser therapy, and full in-house Idexx lab equipment. We have a board certified cardiologist one site weekly and access to board certified surgeons as needed. As a privately owned practice, we are allowed the freedom to customize our care for the individual patient. Our staff works together as a team to create the best possible veterinary experience for both our patients and our clients.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Diagnose, treat and manage a variety of small animal cases
  • Provide education to clients and staff on recommendations and choices in care
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Guide, utilize, and mentor exceptional support staff

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program, or equivalent from a foreign university required
  • Be licensed or able to be licensed in the state of New York
  • Postgraduate small animal internship completion required
  • Minimum of two years of experience preferred; new grads encouraged to apply
  • Surgical experience preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal development
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated compassion for patients and clients
  • Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment

Veterinary Technician – Full Time

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Maintain a high level of client communication and patient care
  • Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork
  • Contribute by delivering high-quality care to our patients
  • Engaging and communicating with clients to deliver excellence in service
  • Primary job functions include surgical prep, dentistry, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement
  • Assist the doctor start to finish with patient treatments, procedures, and animal restraints
  • Perform clinical laboratory procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment
  • Administer anesthetics or sedatives to control pain under the direction of a doctor

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology required
  • Be a licensed veterinary technician in the state of New York required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working as a licensed veterinary technician required
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule which includes to work rotating weekend shifts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives

Veterinary Assistant – Full Time

  • Safe animal restraint or handling, especially in debilitated and elderly patients
  • Perform basic care for patients that does not require a veterinarian or technician such as grooming and nail trims
  • Assist the doctor or technician with patient treatments, procedures, x-rays, and activities
  • Assist in maintaining hospital cleanliness, prepping exam rooms, and supply inventory management
  • Be a positive, engaged team member who is willing and able to offer support to others

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2-years of experience working in a veterinary clinic preferred
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule which includes to work rotating weekend shifts
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
